Privately financed infrastructure has become a major demand during the last decade all over the world. In SALFO we have worked both for the public sector, in helping them structuring their projects and privatization of assets, as well as for private sponsors and lenders in providing technical advice and due diligence services.
We are the first Greek firm that was involved in Public Private Partnerships (PPPs), starting a decade ago as the Greek State's technical adviser for the ambitious Highway PPPs Programme - currently under implementation. SALFO was later involved in the Larnaca and Pafos Airports in Cyprus that was awarded the 2007 Best European Concession Project Award.
Today, we can support Lenders and Sponsors in exploring opportunities and shaping realistic project risk profiles due to our in depth knowledge of project risks and costs. In SALFO we are able to provide not only the technical expertise required for due diligence but also advice on structuring Financial Model assumptions; payment and performance mechanisms; project documents and contracts; sensitivity analyses; deduction and termination scenarios; and we can support Lenders and Sponsors in negotiating commercial issues and contracts. Our experts in project finance have worked on many PPP/PFI transactions in the UK and Europe and are able to work together with financial, legal and insurance advisors in order to fill interface gaps and provide integrated advice to Clients.
We have provided technical due diligence services for Financial Close to the Lenders of the Limassol Marina Development - the largest project under construction in Cyprus - and we are continuing to act as their technical adviser during construction to certify loan drawdowns. We have also advised the Lenders for Financial Close of the second PFI project in Greece, the Pireaus Police Headquarters, where we had significant contribution in drafting and negotiating project documents and contracts.
Our recent assignment was the Concession extension and privatization of the Athens International Airport, where we advised the Greek State on technical issues; traffic projections; future extensions and developments; tariff policies; capital, operational and lifecycle costs.
