Mina Petroleum FZE –Mina Group has been awarded by the U.S. Department of Defense’s Defense Logistics Agency a five-year contract plus a five year option to build and operate a 230,000 cubic meter Bulk Liquid Storage Terminal Facilities at the Port of Salalah in Oman and have to commission the terminal with a Jet Fuel & Marine fuel pipeline (4 pipelines of approximately 3.5 KM each) up to the pipeline corridor/ liquid jetty.
The storage tank facility includes 9 tanks with associated facilities Ship Loading / Off-loading, which transfer fuel products FND76 and JP5 from the Jetty Terminal to the new storage facilities, by means of a new Booster Pump station, which will be located at a certain distance outside the tank farm, 4 pipelines of approximately 3.5 KM each, truck loading station, sub-station, pump stations, supporting buildings and roads, electrical, drainage and firefighting facilities. Transfer rate: from ships 8.000 BBL/H, from barges 2.000 BBL/H, with four 18” pipelines. Area of the plot plan is approximately 58.345 sqm2.
The project has been divided into 2 distinct phases:
- Phase I which includes the Tank Farm (BLSF) facilities, Booster Pump Station (BPS) facilities up to and including the underground pipelines interconnecting the BLSF with the BPS.
- Phase II which includes the Jetty facilities, starting from downstream of the BPS up to and including the Marine Loading Arms (MLAs).
SALFO was awarded by Mina for the Project Management Services of all phases of the project covering Procurement, Construction, Testing, Pre-Commissioning assistance, Commissioning and Handover phases the Project.
