Abu Dhabi International Airport is expected to handle 20 million passengers over the next few years.


The South Airfield Development and Rehabilitation scope consists of:


  • Extension of Taxiway network with 2.5km parallel Taxiways plus connecting taxiways.
  • 100,000 m2 of Apron slabs for cargo area.
  • Networks for Fire Fighting, Electrical distribution, communications, airfield ground lights, storm drainage system. Airside roads and fencing.
  • Main Jet Fuel system, 20,000 m of Jet Fuel lines with fuel hydrants.
  • Remediation works on the existing taxiway F.


The Cost of the works is expected to be Dh 536 MN. The commencement date was July 2013 and the completion is expected to be January 2015.
